Range Telemetry

DDV Range Telemetry Application

This application diagram illustrates how Delta Digital Video solutions support range telemetry applications, enabling real-time video acquisition, transport, and display across mission operations centers, telemetry facilities, and test environments. Multiple video sources are encoded using Model 5480E video encoders, supporting SDI, HDMI, composite, and USB inputs up to 4K resolution with H.264, H.265, or optional JPEG-XS compression.

Each encoder outputs a single-channel transport stream over UDP (TS/UDP) into the range’s network infrastructure, forming a scalable video backbone for telemetry operations. These streams are routed to a Model 9600 Video Distribution Systems, where up to 15 channels of decoding across various analog and digital video formats can support multi-channel synchronization and distribution across multiple operator stations and displays.

The system is synchronized using IRIG-B, PTP, or NTP timing, ensuring accurate time alignment across all video feeds for analysis, monitoring, and mission coordination. From there, decoded video is delivered via SDI or HDMI outputs to control room environments, supporting real-time situational awareness and post-event review.

This architecture provides a flexible, standards-based solution for handling multiple high-resolution video feeds across telemetry ranges. It enables reliable transport, low-latency performance, and seamless integration with modern and legacy range infrastructure.

Key Features:

  • High-quality video encoding using Model 5480E with H.264, H.265, or optional JPEG-XS
  • Supports SDI, HDMI, composite, and USB video inputs up to 4K
  • Network transport streams for real-time video routing across IP infrastructure
  • Multi-channel decoding and display distribution with Model 9600
