Depot Test Application

DDV Depot Test Application

When an aircraft returns from a mission with a display or graphics issue, maintenance teams need to see exactly what its graphics processor is outputting before the component can return to service. Automated avionics test systems, including eCASS and other shipboard or depot test platforms, allow technicians to test and troubleshoot the aircraft’s graphics processor outside the aircraft.

Delta Digital Video’s VSC/900 and SSC/924 provide alternative conversion paths based on the graphics processor’s output signal. The VSC/900 Universal Video Format Converter accepts DVI, VGA, or SDI signals and converts them into the format required by the test display. For graphics processors that generate X/Y and Z or Z-RGB stroke signals, the SSC/924 Stroke-to-Video Scan Converter converts the legacy stroke video into a standard raster format.

The converted graphics can then be viewed on standard monitors through DVI, VGA, SDI, or composite outputs, depending on the selected converter. This gives technicians a clear view of the processor’s output during automated testing, helping them evaluate performance, troubleshoot display issues, validate repairs, and return critical avionics equipment to service.

Key Features:

    • Alternative conversion paths for digital, analog, or legacy stroke-video outputs
    • VSC/900 conversion of DVI, VGA, SDI, composite, and other video formats
    • SSC/924 conversion of X/Y/Z and Z-RGB stroke signals into raster video
    • DVI, VGA, SDI, and composite display outputs, depending on configuration
    • Supports integration with eCASS and other automated avionics test systems
    • Enables graphics processor output to be viewed on standard monitors
    • Supports shipboard maintenance and shore-based depot testing

Application Scenarios:

    • Aircraft graphics processor testing and troubleshooting
    • Shipboard intermediate-level avionics maintenance
    • Fleet Readiness Center and depot repair operations
    • Automated avionics test equipment integration
    • Legacy stroke-video display replacement
    • Post-repair performance verification
