The Optical Systems Group (OSG) of the Range Commanders Council (RCC) is excited to announce its Fall 2024 Open Standards Committee forum for Government and industry collaboration. The Committee seeks industry participation with the development of interface, protocol, and format standards for use in motion imagery systems at OSG member facilities. The Committee seeks, where possible, solutions that follow the principles of the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and that are compliant with the DoD motion imagery architecture, as defined by the Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB). The goal of this activity is to maximize the interoperability of motion imagery systems and sub-systems. Specific working group topic areas include:
- OSG Open Source Architecture
- Motion Imagery File Format
- Time Space Position Information (TSPI) Log File Format
- Metadata
- Metadata Encoding and Transport over Camera Interfaces
- Camera and Lens Control/Status Interface
- Transport Infrastructure
- Metadata Encoding and Transport over IP Networks
- System Level Command and Control (C2)
The RCC/OSG Standards Committee intends to hold meetings twice annually in conjunction with regularly scheduled RCC/OSG meetings. The Standards Committee meetings will be open to Government, Contractor, and Vendor attendees. Technical personnel are encouraged to attend and actively participate in the process and provide input and comment. This open collaboration meeting will be held on November 20th, 2024 at 07:45 AM MST at the RCC/OSG meeting which is being hosted by Dugway Proving Ground (West Desert Test Center). Any additional meetings and/or other activities will be established and scheduled by the Committee.
The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this RFI; nor will the Government compensate a respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided or any cost incurred for participating in this Committee.
